Milwaukee, WI – In a devastating incident on Tuesday night, 22-year-old Sierra Hill lost her life in a fatal car crash that occurred near the Leon’s Custard signage on S. 27th Street in the Southside of Milwaukee. The collision involved a Chevrolet Equinox and a Chevrolet Cruze, resulting in a stark contrast in outcomes for those involved.

The Tragic Incident

On Tuesday, shortly after 9:31 p.m., a 35-year-old male driver, accompanied by a female passenger, was speeding southbound on S. 27th Street. Disregarding a red stop light, the Chevrolet Equinox collided with a Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound on W. Oklahoma Ave.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing the Equinox to strike a parked vehicle, hit the sidewalk curb, and roll over multiple times. The vehicle ultimately came to a rest sideways after colliding with a light concrete post near the 3100 block of S. 27th St. Surveillance footage from Leon’s Custard captured the harrowing sequence of events.

Rescue Efforts

First responders promptly arrived at the scene and successfully freed both the 35-year-old driver and Sierra Hill from the wreckage. Despite their efforts, Sierra Hill succumbed to her injuries and tragically lost her life at the scene, as confirmed by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Disparate Outcomes

In contrast to the fatal outcome for Sierra Hill, the 45-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Cruze emerged from the collision without sustaining any injuries. The stark contrast in results highlights the severity of the impact and the differing fates of those involved in the tragic incident.

Investigation and Preliminary Report

As authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, preliminary findings indicate the Equinox’s high speed and violation of the traffic signal as contributing factors to the collision.

The preliminary investigation report underscores the absence of injuries to the Chevrolet Cruze’s driver, emphasizing the drastic difference in outcomes resulting from the collision on that ill-fated Tuesday night.
